Our customers are worldwide. Where you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, the UK GDPR and EU GDPR apply to how we handle your information, and this policy is written to meet them.

To form your company and obtain your EIN: your full name as it appears on your passport, and the same for every other owner; date of birth, nationality, and residential address; a copy of your passport or other government identity document; your proposed company names, business description, and ownership percentages; email address and phone number.

To run your account: login credentials, the documents we file for you, mail we receive and scan on your behalf, and your correspondence with us.

To take payment: Stripe processes your card. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and the last four digits. We never see or store your full card number.

Automatically: basic technical information such as IP address and browser type, and whether you opened our emails.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers.

• US state authorities - Wyoming or Colorado, to form and maintain your company.
• The Internal Revenue Service - to obtain your EIN and make your tax filings.
• Stripe - to take payment.
• Our technology suppliers - hosting, database and email delivery providers, who process data on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
• Professional advisers, or a regulator or court - where we are legally required.

We are a US company and your information is processed in the United States. If you are in the UK or the EEA, this means your data is transferred outside your home jurisdiction. Where we use suppliers, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

This is unavoidable given what you are asking us to do: forming a US company and dealing with the IRS necessarily involves sending your details to the United States.

• Formation and filing records - at least seven years after our last work for you, because tax and corporate records must be retainable.
• Identity documents - kept only as long as needed to complete your filings and meet our record-keeping obligations, then deleted.
• Account and dashboard data - while your account is open, then in line with the above.
• Marketing preferences and unsubscribes - indefinitely, so we can honour your choice.

You can ask us to give you a copy of what we hold, correct anything wrong, delete data we no longer have a reason to keep, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to another provider. You can withdraw consent to marketing at any time.

Some data we cannot delete on request - once a filing has been made to a state or to the IRS, it forms part of a public or federal record and our own retention obligations apply.

Email hello@1dayein.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to your data protection authority - in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA to know what we collect, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell personal information.

We send two kinds of email.

Service emails - about your filings, deadlines, renewals and the status of your company. These concern legal obligations your company has, and we continue to send them even if you opt out of marketing, because not sending them could cause you real harm.

Marketing emails - about other services we offer. Every one carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately.

We use cookies that are necessary for the site to work - keeping you signed in, and remembering your progress through an application. We use limited analytics to understand how the site is used. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not track you across other websites.

Your documents are held in access-controlled storage. Our database enforces row-level access so one customer cannot see another's records. Payment card data never reaches our systems. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your rights we will tell you and the relevant authority without undue delay.

Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18.
